Eternal Tattoo Artist

Born in Dearborn Michigan, just outside of Detroit and grew up in the country. Background as a Christian, critical care nurse, entrepreneur, restauranteur, fitness enthusiast, concert goer, artist, outdoorsman, guitar player, art collector, tattoo collector, craftsman, father, brother, and friend. Interested in fashion, tattooing, bowhunting, music of many genres (blues, country, rock, classic rock, hip hop, r n b, Motown) playing guitar, trained percussionist, cooking, and motorcycles.

I am a deep thinker and a great listener. I love deep quotes, motivational speakers, manifestation, and stories of trial and tribulation. I can often sense peoples energies and during the tattoo process many thoughts, memories, and stories are often shared. I bond with my clients throughout the process of the tattoo and often many clients become long lasting friendships. I was formally apprenticed under award winning photorealist tattoo artist Tom Renshaw. I have collected my tattoos from Tom and Jay Wheeler both who came up under Tramp Welker the owner of the world renowned Eternal Tattoo Brand. I have met Brian Everett, Jack Rudy, Bob Tyyrell, and Marshall Bennett who have been pillars of inspiration in my tattoo journey.

Ink by Michael’s tattooing style is black and grey only. A wide array of grey tones is applied to build up contrasting values that is characteristic of photorealistic tattooing.

This tattooing style is reproductive and precise in nature meaning he is able to recreate nature scenes, wildlife, textures, and font styles per client request. Ink by Michael does not reproduce other tattoo artists work. Our favorite kind of client is motivated, prepared, has put thought into researching their tattoo and it’s meaning. Ink by Michael will create custom tattoo imagery for clients who have specific requests, under the conditions that it is not racist, homophobic, in good taste and will make a good tattoo. I reserve the right to make alterations to or deny tattoo requests based upon my taste.
